I have always enjoyed Cara Bastone’s writing, so I went into this one blind. The premise is a quirky one for sure and I think as long as you don’t truly try to understand the how and why of the time travel/wormholes, you will have a really enjoyable listening experience.
The characters were very sweet and this was a wonderful twist on the forced proximity trope. Mikey was such a loveable golden retriever! The full cast narration and sound effects were a fantastic surprise and the book played out just like a movie. Noah Reid and Zoe Chao were so perfectly cast and they brought Cara Bastone’s amazing banter to life. I was grinning while listening to this one and though there are some more serious topics discussed in the story, the overall message is very heartwarming and hopeful.
