If Dungeon Lord seems short, just keep in mind it’s been professionally edited. Yes! You’ll be getting savory content rather than fluff and filler. Dungeon Lord has the bones of any other straightforward ‘rags to riches’ LitRPG story, but Hugo Huesca writes with a darker tone than what is typical for the genre. And, that’s probably this book’s best selling point: Dark-ish LitRPG. Oh, and don’t forget the skillful editing! Together, the two things create a solid platform for what hopefully proves to be a satisfying series. I bought book 2, so we’ll see how things go. Personally, I hope the story branches out a bit and distinguishes itself from its peers. That alone would top off the star ratings for me. (PS For any wondering– and it almost goes without saying that–Jeff Hays narrates supremely well and Soundbooth Theaters creates a movie in your mind. Astounding!)
