I know the author can’t be so dumb as to think contracts made while the main character is being held against his will would not be held up in court. regardless of how many failsafes were included in the contracts. Or if the public knew that a player was stuck in the game, which is certainly implied, the sheer amt of outcry, investigations, so on. a company can’t hold someone responsible for using features built in game. that whole chapter has ruined this book for me.
