I’m a sucker for the litrpg genre, which being what they are, obviously aren’t going to be remembered through the ages as great works of fiction. they’re just for fun. That said, the story and writing of this one are just mediocre at best, even for a litrpg. The characters are pretty bland and one dimensional, their lines of thinking and decisions just seem disjointed or illogical, and he misses obvious opportunities to explore things that would breathe more life into the characters and narrative. Jeff Hays does a good job though, he narrates a lot of these litrpg books and shows himself well here.
