2022 52 Book Challenge – 3) Title Starting With The Letter “E”
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
So I’ll preface this review by saying that I read that it was about a supernatural academy, and I got really excited thinking it would be fantastic. I didn’t read that it was a reverse harem, and that would basically be everything that this book was going to be about.
So if you like reverse harems with
1) Poor character development; as the main character is basically coddled and doesn’t listen to anything resulting in a general weak character that needs to be rescued, the secondary characters have basically no character to them except that they’re horny and like the main character, I literally couldn’t tell them apart because they all sounded the same.
2) Extremely poor world development; I mentioned this was in a supernatural school, right? Well, aside from a minor subplot with some school bullies, you would never know. Because all they talk about is being mates and how much they like each other. They mention once that the academy has lectures and then nothing again for the entire book. What lectures? What schooling? What training are you giving to all of these fae?
3) Extreme horny behaviour without any actual happenings; these characters act horny the entire book. Seriously. You get the occasional staring at each other, but there is no description in this book, of anything. They don’t describe appearance, the eyes, the hair, the outfits, the food, the school. I can’t even imagine what these characters look like, let alone anything else.
This might be the book for you.
But it is not the book for me.
