So many authors these days feel the need to illustrate their political beliefs by spinning them into the fiction of their universe. They go through the basic tenants of their belief system, sprinkling in emotion to make the dogma seem more palatable. The author is right that they can’t please everyone (they probably saw this review coming), but I really was satisfied before the preaching started.

To the author: Please leave politics out of your books. You’re a very talented author otherwise. With the exception of this one book, the story arcs, character depth, and lexicon has so far been fantastic in this series.

People come to fiction as an escape from the propaganda surrounding us, not to see that same evangelism custom illustrated through passion plays.

Content aside, the audio performance was flawless, as usual.
