It’s not often that you read about the H actually yearning for commitment, children, a family. That’s what Logan sees in little Flynn and his mother Harper when they become his next-door neighbours. The latter is living on borrowed time, always having to put a guard up whilst hiding from a psychopathic ex. She’s even gone as far as using a new identity. For once, the young single mom feels at home in Willow Creek.

Logan and the rest of the Jackson bunch have welcomed Harper and Flynn with open arms into their home. However, the Eli, the older brother, isn’t so convinced. He knows she’s hiding something, and will not hesitate to intimidate her into “staying away from his younger brother.” It seems as if the outside world is against them, but Logan will do whatever it takes to protect those of whom he loves: that includes an adorably rambunctious 5 year old and his lovely independent mom.

The performance was okay. When there are more than one narrators, it would sound even better with a proper duet. The narration would be more cohesive if the female didn’t have to voice the male parts and vice versa. Possible triggers: spousal abuse, domestic violence, stalking, kidnapping. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
