The story and series premise that the same characters go through a variety of different apocalypse scenarios in each book is interesting. This book covers a nuclear attack and the survivors content with fallout, bad guys and finding safe and clean places. The characters have some development, but the book feels a bit rushed to cover all the characters and their stories.The general research in this book seems to be good in regard to fallout and radiation, but it seems like people are pretty casual about exposure. The real problem is in regards to firearms. Terminology is OK, but seriously, try shooting a .22 before you write about it. Writing about the stock slamming back into your shoulder, or the recoil being painful is just lazy research and writing.
Kevin Pierce does a great job narrating a variety of characters, and delivers a solid performance.
