first, I really liked the narration; this reader is greatly enjoyable!
This is one of the better apocalyptic books I have read in years. however, I think a main character could have been a little less isolationist and fearful to trust, especially after having served in the military where one generally learns how to determine if someone is worth taking the chance to trust. still, it’s not bad, if a little graphically descriptive when it’s unnecessary. its quite practical thou, and done in a relatively realistic manner.
my only serious gripe is the order in which the book was written, as it skips around a lot. the skipping is predictable, for the most part, but really distracting when it skips back & forth between times.
so, a nut shell: jack reacher meets Rambo meets mad max and he goes out to a post apocalyptic, post super virus world…
last but not least, Corona virus (plus fear mingering) much!?!?
