No one ever likes a cliffhanger as large as this one. Most of the books have atleast come to what felt like a solid “resting point” where something has been clearly achieved and the next destination is set. this one is just. . . bleh? Other complaints such as the “romance” will differ person to person, I found it cute but ah well. This book was basically just a tournament arc, which is that good shit I always eat up, reading other reviews some seem annoyed at Lindons “weakness” which baffles me. in book two I was astounded at the casual power of the aurelius underlord. Lindon now stands ON THE SAME STAGE AS THESE PEOPLE. in less then a 10th of the time it took many to get there and others cant even reach. “heavens” blessing or not the progression (even in books as short as these) has been wonderful to listen to imo. (SLIGHT SPOILER HERE) The gifts the contestants receive are a bit gimmicky I will be honest but they are bestowed by monarchs, beings who are said to be the apex of cradle so I can swallow the fact if a bit unsatisfying. This series seems to be adding more questions than answers book by book which is my biggest annoyance because of usual 8ish hour length things do seem rushed in some aspects and makes me worried about how many more books there will be but I’m still in it for now. . . .just no more heavy cliffhangers. . . please?
