I have read almost all of Charleigh Rose’s books and I love them all. I was weary of this one, but I had no reason to be. It was so much more than I expected. After I started reading it, I messaged @katieskindleaddiction to find out why I didn’t start it sooner! Once I started, I couldn’t put it down.

Remington Stringer is a neglected, yet strong and determined 18 year old girl. Forced to grow up too fast, her father is always working, so she is left with her increasingly possessive Stepbrother. She is starting her senior year of high school at a prestigious school that her father saved up enough money to send her to. She knows she isn’t going to fit in but this doesn’t stop Remi because she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it.

Mr. James/Pierce is a 29 year old, moody and brooding Debate teacher at her new school. He was a former Lawyer and has more to him than meets the eye. He takes care of those in his life and feels responsible for them. He is demanding and possessive, which you know I love!

Remi and Pierce do not hit it off right away. Remi knows there is something about her new teacher and makes it her mission to get under his skin. The back and forth between them was delicious. I was anxiously awaiting for the explosion of when their chemistry finally combusted. This was not your typical student/teacher trope with some angst and drama sprinkled in. This was a beautiful “cautionary tale” filled with love, loss, secrets and finding out who you are and what you are meant to be. I laughed, cried and I swooned. You don’t want to miss this one!
