This was a pretty good introduction to a series about surviving after an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP). The book follows four strangers who find themselves together in Times Square after a probable EMP hits. A downed plane takes out most people and these four decide to try to find a working vehicle in order for one of them, Eliot, to return to Lake Placid.

The book has some good survivalist info, a pretty predictable story line, and a bit of character development. There is enough action to keep the reader interested and I loved the addition of a dog to the mix. I have read a lot of books in this genre, so there wasn’t a lot new to this one. But, it was well-written, the characters each had something intriguing about them, and the research was sound.

The narrator did a good job and helped in my enjoyment of the book. I was given the chance to listen to this book by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.
