This series is a page turner and difficult to put down. The characters are engaging and varied. There is someone for everyone. That said, I am exhausted by the never ending violence. I, as well as the characters, would like a little time to enjoy a day filled with sunshine, family, and laughter. I am putting the series down for a while for some respite from the constant threats of bad neighbors, conniving townsfolk, bully government officials , and verbal abuse from “family”. I will return at some point to finish the journey…I expect to see draught, famine, forest fires and hurricanes yet to come to the valley. Made it to volume 10…
