First I need to start off with the narration. It was absolutely amazing! The narrator had the perfect voice for Ocean. She also did a great job at voicing all the different male characters that I always knew who she was speaking for. 5+++ STARS
Now onto the story. It was as you’d expect a bully romance to be with plenty of push and pull between the two main characters. That’s one of the things I love about bully romance and enemies to lovers tropes. I just hope that it doesn’t get too drawn out as this is a 4 book series. That is one of my personal struggles with series in general. Sometimes they are a bunch of filler. This one was not and I’m hopeful the rest of the series will be the same. Now for the reason of my overall rating of 3.75 stars. I found Ocean a huge contradiction. She portrayed herself as a take no s*** type of girl but most of the time she wasn’t really as bad a** as I expected her to be. I hope that changes in the next book. I don’t necessarily need her to be super tough but if you talk like you are I need to you to follow through. Also be warned. There are possible triggers for people so please do your research if you have any. Ocean is definitely not a virginal heroine which I loved and Colton is deliciously broody. This ends in a jaw dropping cliffhanger but if you can’t wait for the next audiobook the rest of the story is available on ebook format. I’ll be trying to wait for the audiobooks as I fell in love with Lessa Lamb’s narration!
