While a book about a living video game has the potential to be repetitive (you’ve all spent hours leveling up, you know what I mean), the author does a good job of glossing over said repetitive parts, and does a great job creating engaging and entertaining characters, such that he (mostly) avoids this pitfall. I’m sure the book is great when actually read, but for a truly wonderful experience, it needs to be listened to. Most narrators try to do voices, if only to differentiate the characters for the readers, but this narrator, with a few helpful voice effects, blows everyone else out of the water. I think I would have enjoyed the book if I had read it on paper or kindle, but after the audio performance, I just want to finish this review so I can go get the next one.
