I was not sure how Christine Michelle was going to top the 1st book in her “Aces High MC” series, “The Other Princess” which I loved but she did and I loved this one just as much, if not more than that one. She penned another beautiful, captivating story that grabs your heart and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The first book was Ever’s story, this book is CJ aka “Double-D” and Lucy’s story, her Dad and Step-Mom, who we met in the first book. Their story is a great one, a great love, it was not always easy for them, there were struggles from the start, obstacles and barriers came between them and kept them apart. But they were definitely meant to be and the chemistry between them is undeniable, but can that be enough for then. I loved how their story plays out, it is well plotted and it has a natural flow to it. The authors descriptive writing is amazing, she brings you into the story, right along side the characters, so you can see and feel what they do. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is plenty of drama, personal, family and club, as well as angst, heartbreaking moments, heartfelt ones and some hot romance. It was great to see more of the club dynamics as well as their family dynamics. Christine Michelle, thank you for another amazing story, I am loving this series, the characters and their stories. hope the rest of the series comes to audio soon.
Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality as well as heart and attitude. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they truly grasped their persona captured all their emotions and projected it into their performance. They sounded as I pictured them to, Sarah’s Lucy and Michael’s CJ was amazing. They are entertaining storytellers, you could hear how much heart they put into their work, it enhances the story to another level of greatness. Thank you for this great listen?.
