This book is awesome, the story wowed me completely and it is definitely left me breathless. Dakota Willink created one dark and intense story, one that captivated my attention from start to end. This is the type of book you do not want to put down because you need to know what happens next. The storylines and characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adored and admired the lead female character, Gianna, her tenacity and determination to not only survive but to free herself and get away from her abuser. The person she married hid his true self from her, his evil deranged mind, the mind of a narcissistic madman. She had to bide her time with him because of who he was but even if she gets away she is never truly free of him. Derek had a brief encounter with Gianna the night of her wedding, there was an instant connection between them and he never forgot about her, so he was surprised to see her again years later posing as a completely different person. He knew she had a story and he was waiting her for to share it and when she finally did it blew his mind what she endured. But he had faith in her and her strength. This book is brilliantly plotted, there plenty of drama, angst, action, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, mystery, and yes romance, but what makes this book shine the most is not just the complexity of the story and it’s characters but how much the characters and where they wind up in the end. Dakota Willink, thank you for this outstanding story and for the emotional and thrilling rollercoaster ride.

??? And for the wonderful narration, Sean Crisden, Sarah Puckett and Connor Crais are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They did an awesome job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. Sarah Puckett took Gianna’s role and ran with it and made it her own. She allowed you to hear her strength, determination as well as her vulnerabilities. Sean Crisden played the perfect Derek, a gentleman with a whole lot of heart, he brought out is fierceness at the right moments too. Connor Crais grasped Ethan’s persona to a tee, he played the part going from sweetheart to a madman with ease. These are mega talented narrators, they are entertaining storytellers and their performance enhanced the story another level. Thank you for this outstanding listen?
