This book just blew me away, it is an amazing story that draws you in right from the start and captivates your attention the entire time. It is my first book written by Emily McIntire, I enjoyed her writing style, the characters and storylines she creates are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. This book is Aline May and Chase Adam’s story, It is not always an easy story and the characters have their share of hardships and issues, including dealing with inner demons. The story is set over the years and takes you up the present and is told in alternating POV. I thought it was great to get a full glimpse of when and how they first meet, Aline 11 and Chase 13 years old. There are also some great secondary character who play roles in their life including Jackson Rhoades, Becca and Chase’s sister Lily and several others. Chase and his sister did not have it easy in their early years, their mother abused drugs, it left scars on both of them, abandonment issues and insecurities of not being worthy. My heart went out to those two, loved how he always looked out for her and was sad to see her start to pull away in her late teens. Aline crushed on Chase but he would not look at her that way, thought she was too good for him. After years of denying how he felt he finally gives in and the two finally get together. But life throws more obstacles their way including a heartbreaking losses which changed both their lives. I was really mad at Chase for the part he played in the heartbreak and for giving up so easily, I understand why and that he needed to work on himself. Life has a funny way of working out and bringing people who were meant for each other back together again. This is a beautiful second chance romance, the story is wonderfully plotted with plenty of drama, angst and heartfelt and emotional moments. Emily McIntire, thank you for this amazing story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. I hope the rest of the series is being made into audiobooks too.

??? And for the amazing narration, Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell did an awesome job portraying the characters, giving each their own distinct voice and personality as well as heart and attitude. Sara Puckett played Eline’s role with perfection, Steve Campbell did the same for Chase, both were awesome performing the roles of the secondary characters too. Their duet performance enhances this story to another level of awesomeness, their voices worked well together and you could hear the chemistry between the characters as well as all their emotions. These two mega talented narrators are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the awesome listen?
