Holy book hangover. This one’s going to be a hard book to let go of! 20% into this book, I knew it was going to be my favorite book of November. And yet another Jewel Ann book that will forever hang with me. Her books are the type of books you read, and they come into your mind from time to time in the best of ways. You find any chance to talk about them. And I already know this is one I’m going to be thinking about and talking about for a long time. It’s beautifully written! But the hilarious banter added an extra level that I hadn’t read in a Jewel Ann book! The banter was top notch! These two were absolutely hilarious. It was the type of sarcastic banter full of witty jokes and punny humor! Banter is a favorite of mine, and this book blew me away! We needed this level of humor! If you’ve read a Jewel Ann book before, you know her books come with emotions that will rip your heart out before it puts it back together. But this made it seem so much lighter. Don’t get me wrong, this book is a classic Jewel Ann book; it definitely packs a punch! But at least she softened the blow! 🤣
Summary:
Jamie is a traveling nurse looking to travel the world like she’s always dreamed. However, she didn’t expect to meet a broody grump that’s closed himself off from the world, focusing only on his job. Immediately these two started with the sarcastic banter to play off their growing attraction for one another. But that only did the opposite. Attraction grew to a love neither of them were prepared for.
I loved watching each of these characters grow and share truths and heartaches, just as much as I loved the banter.
This book was stunning! And the audiobook was INCREDIBLE!!!
If you love Jewel Ann’s book. You will love this book.

Dual Narration
Narrated by Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs
I’m still in awe over this audiobook. It is full of some of the best performances I’ve ever listened to! Ada Sinclair did the most INCREDIBLE job as Jamie! I’m seriously blown away by her performance. The emotions she brought out in both the male and female characters of this story will have your jaw dropping. I’m not kidding. Chapter 41 will go down as one of the best performances I’ve ever listened to! Nelson Hobb’s played Fitz, the broody smoke jumper that has no interest in attaching himself to anything or anyone after the heartache he’s experienced and been warned against! Nelson, like Ada, brought this character to life so incredibly well! He nailed every moment of frustration, sarcastic comeback, and heartbreaking scene. I loved it all! Both of these narrators were incredible. There really is no other way to say it!
