This is the first book I have listened to by this author and I had really high hopes for it. In fact, I bought it and the second book in this series without having ever read anything by her. This book started out great and for about the first 50%, I was all in. and then the drama became ridiculous. There was zero reason for the majority of the drama that happened and I have to tell you that it really pulled me out of the story. I found myself skimming the ebook to advance.
The other thing that really bothered me was that this book jumped all over the place. You would be in the middle of one scene and suddenly jumped 6 weeks later in the next paragraph.
I know I’m complaining, but this book really frustrated me. I hate to leave reviews like this, but I know I’m not alone in these kinds of frustrations. I’m hoping the second book is better.
