I listened to my first TJ Klune book two years ago and have listened to every one written at least twice, expect Murmuration. I’m into fantasy and contemporary settings and a book set in 1954 just didn’t appeal. After two years of listening to romance/drama/fantasy books, I’ve come to realize the descriptions aren’t always what the book is really about. So I decided to give Murmuration a try. True to all TJ Klune books I’ve listened to already, I wasn’t disappointed. It was a great listen once I got used to Kirt Graves narration. Didn’t like it at all in the beginning but an hour into the book I got used to his lack of inference, kinda non-emotional style.

It is a classic TJ Klune book. Full of finely detailed characters, background and storyline. There is never any doubt how the characters feel, unless you aren’t supposed to know. The level of emotional detail put into the writing is fantastic. And this one really makes you think. The ending is a bit of a mystery. You might think you know what’s really going on but there’s always more.

I’d recommend this to anyone who likes more than just a book about a relationship. It is deep and thought provoking with unexpected twists and turns.

Thank you TJ Klune for another great listen.
