Travis Bagwell continues the series with the central focus on the two characters whose paths seem destined to slug it out to the bitter end, both in the online and real world. However, the author also took the time to provide significant digital ink to Alex’s two high tier companions, Riley and Frank, both in character advancement as well as cementing their role as pivotal to the series.

An interesting aspect to this series is that Travis has created a polytheistic online world where the gods appear to be just as capricious as mythological pagan gods of lore. Furthermore, the moral/ethical roles seem to be opposite of that of human history and fantasy with the realm of light, while being perceived in-game as beneficent is choosing Alex as its prophet with the clear dictum to destroy the Twilight Throne and Jason along with it. Whereas, the realm of dark with Jason are perceived in-game as malevolent and is more like that of an anti-hero in a gruesome, macabre way.

Along side the two MCs feuds there are epic tangential confrontations both of them must overcome to advance within the game as well as gaining stature in the real world.

This book contains all the intrigue, betrayal, redemption and bloodlust to sate anyone’s appetite for a thrilling and entertaining continuation of the series and David Stifel’s narrating performance only adds to that allure.
