I picked this series up for one credit, so I can’t say it was money wasted. However, I could barely make it through the fourth book. Sadly, like many other entries in the genre, the characters start strong but progressively get dumber as the series goes on. It feels like they were lifted straight from The Walking Dead, with decisions so nonsensical.
Worse, they throw all caution to the wind even after witnessing the complete collapse of society. At some point, you start thinking that some of them deserve whatever comes their way—not because they’re bad people, but because their choices are just plain idiotic.

I won’t spoil anything or get into the plot details. I’ll just say that while the first book is worth the credit, the series quickly runs out of steam. By the end, you’ll find yourself hoping it wraps up quickly, just so you can move on to something better.
