My favorites of the genre are by Mark Goodwin and Frank Horton. The quality of writing here is far removed from such as well as the frequent pubescent level dialogs that make this otherwise believable and entertaining story painful to listen to. It has a conservative bent at least as far as politics though a bit overdone with casual sex and torture. I almost stopped the book after an hour or two. I am midway into the book and am disappointed that the book is so dumbed down. The saving grace is the plot, some of the less cringy humor and the unique approach to the topic…insomuch as it isn’t so prepper heavy in detail.
