The only thing that kept this series from being a perfect classic was its “near” absolute refusal to go back to the main characters point of origin. No news from the Homefront doesn’t work when the Homefront is what drives the character. And it bugged me throughout the series. Still . . . .

These Sacred Valley Stories are like popcorn. Once you start you cant stop. And the way the stories are composed they never dip in wonder and you just about always have to go to the next book immediately. It’s almost like each book is a chapter because they get absorbed so quickly.

And if you are a gamer the books have the feel of RPG lit but feel so much more complete. Superior story telling. Fallible protagonist you keep rooting for and who keeps growing.. Marvelous side characters, some funny and some curiously powerful. And an overriding mystery you cant quite grasp even when you are eight books in.

I am so glad I got to the series late and got to read/listen to them all at once. . . . Well not all, because there still is more story to be told and I can hardly wait.
