Every aspect of this book is just perfect. The story flows easily and each character is a story within the story. I just loved this tale and will be recommending it to our book club. I learned so much about the pandemic of 1918 and about the 1st World War which was happening at the same time. There are so many novels written about WWII, it was a welcome change to take a look at the history surrounding the late teens of the 20th Century . I especially liked that even though the whole world was affected by the deadly flu, – the author of this novel brings her readers right into the Bright’s household and makes him/her feel as though they are part of the family, privy to each person’s thoughts and motives, joys and sorrows! Excellent!
