This was a very interesting story filled with blockbuster movie action scenes. This story is, at times dark but filled with sarcastic humor and one liners all along the way. This makes it easy to root for our main character who can be a little pain in the butt at times but you continue to love him. There is tons of futuristic tech which if I told you enhances our characters would be an understatement. There is secret societies, exotic cars and just a ton of action that leaves you wanting more. The characters are emotionally detached which makes you want to mess with them even less. There are many different plotlines in this story, one of them being memory loss and this got confusing at times only because you had to realize that you were going into the person’s memory bank instead of what was actually going on in the story. It is easy enough to get back into the story. The narration was done very well. This is not my first performance by Kafer and he does a great job. His voice definitely adds to the storyline and themes of the audiobook. His tone is very ominous but light when it had to be. He voices the female characters well and it was not difficult to tell the difference between characters. I think the only downfall to this story is the abrupt ending but I understand this is a series and I cannot wait for book 2. I enjoyed this one a lot. I was given a free copy of this audiobook inexchange for an honest review via Audiobook Boom. This in no way affected my opinion of this work.
