The story starts off decently enough but doesn’t move along in parts. I can sometimes hear the frequent pauses indicative of writers block in some areas and even tell when it happens when plot changes deviate with no real …lead to. Blunt force indication the change was rushed to move the story along.

A lot of Lit RPG suffers form this, but good narrators can make it work, Narrators like Nick Podehl, Luke Daniels or Louise Cooksey (to name a few), would bring such stories to life despite their short comings. unfortunately you don’t have a narrator at those levels here, so what would have been average but enjoyable becomes average but….insufferable at parts.

I have found the same issue with all Lit RPG’s narrated by Neil…I am thinking he maybe best suited for mystery thrillers and whodunits, not Litrpg.

If you are unfamiliar with well narrated Litrpg, then definitely give this a try. However if you are spoiled by quality and have come to (dare I say) “expect” quality
