I enjoyed Steven Konkoly’s Jakarta Pandemic and Perseid Collapse books. This is a spin off of the latter, but makes references to the pandemic as well. The book is a bit erratic and apparently was written in three parts. The parts don’t mesh as smoothly as it could. The characters are a bit flat, and often do things that don’t fit with their circumstances and prior experiences. Normalcy bias abounds and hits at the worst times.
Kevin Pierce does his usual bang up job narrating this unevenly written spin off.
I was given this free audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
