Familiar story arc. If you’ve read One Second After or other books in this genre, the story line is identical. Times suddenly get tough. Neighbors are unprepared and go crazy, and then (wait for it). . . GANGS of people looting, shooting and torturing the women. (Yawn) Also, it’s so obvious when military wannabes write these things. Waaaay too much detail on guns and ammo. This genre has lost its allure since nobody can seem to surmount the big 3: Jakarta Pandemic, Alas Babylon and One Second After. Please oh puhleeeze would more women writers write on this theme??!!!
