And SW did a really great job with one of the bad guys here, so good I need to write a review just for the Spaniard! Charismatic, seemingly reasonable, even intelligent, and a single guy who should be able to destroy all the good guys on his own if he didn’t charm you out of your socks. Then you realize he is a Nazi Zealot, who may have taught Hitler the Aryan philosophy, and probably happily ran one of the death camps. The cognitive dissonance as I read is amazing.
Really great story, if only for this bad guy, and really thinking and intelligent protagonists who keep trying to adapt to the situation as well as they can! No shallow and 2 dimensional set-peice charcters here.
