A surprise engagement. An attack. A death. Briar’s life is out of control. And someone knows. Her guys are determined to protect her but she knows, it’s only a matter of time before her secrets catch up to her.

I love these characters almost as much as I hate their parents. I can’t imagine why the guys allow themselves to be controlled like they do. They are no longer children. It’s time to take some of the control back. Surely they can walk away from the money. Only one has a legitimate excuse; the others need to man up. Briar has always made her own way, it’s time they prove they are as strong as their girl. Despite the poor parenting, it didn’t feel ridiculous. They stayed within their characters if that makes sense. And it is entertaining. Spicy scenes with the guys, adorable puppy snuggles, many revelations, and more scheming than you can imagine made it a page-turner. The ending seemed to be a little contrived but it continues the drama. Can’t wait for more.

Cecily Foster was joined by Alexander Neal for this second book. Great decision. Cecily did everything she could in the first book but with so many key characters being male, dual narration was the way to go. They both did a fantastic job bringing this book to life. Kudos.
