If you are also following the Mad Mick series you might want to get caught up on that one before reading/listening to this particular book. It will help put the events that happen here into perspective, but it is by no means required and there are no spoilers in this book.
This book is like a roller coaster of restoration, hope, and dispair. It’s definitely one of the darker books in this series, and yet in the end nothing has really changed. Still, my husband found this one hard to swallow. But, since I’ve already read all of the Mad Mick series and was already aware of what happened on Lightspeed’s end, I didn’t struggle as much with it.
