I can’t really explain why, but I found this installment to be much less interesting than the previous entries in this series. At several points in the story I was struggling to even pay attention, and I think the setting had a lot to do with it. The subway setting was uninteresting and convoluted in my opinion, I simply didn’t like it. Where the story shines, as ever, is in the characters. I really felt the absence of Mordecai, and that’s how I know these characters are well written. However. The world they are adventuring in is starting to become boring. I hope the next book is better.
