Very odd that the husband can make some of these decisions (near the end) with no discussion and input from his wife, let alone consent.
Very odd that the wife would be fine with the secrets she keeps but angry with the husband about what she imagines he is keeping secret — and no one speaks to each other. Yet they are supposed to be a modern urban couple, each with jobs, present or past, with heavy responsibility.
Extremely odd that the wife thinks that with no writing experience or training that she can decide to write a novel that publishers would scramble for and that royalties will rake in the cash. Once in a blue moon maybe, but in this case?
I stuck with it because I really did enjoy the concept of including the quotations of advice to wives from the past. A lot of this is still baked in to current thinking.
