I have listened to dozens of post-apocalyptic books, and this is either at the top or darned near it. I love these characters, and thought about them even when not listening to the books. Horton is a relatively new find for me, and I’m going to grab another one as soon as I’m finished writing this review. One thing I appreciated about this story is that, although the central character is a prepper, he’s not a super-prepper. This story is realistic in that he has thought of many scenarios and possibilities (yes, more than most), but is still surprised by things he failed to anticipate. That would be the case with many preppers. Just an overall outstanding series.
