I enjoy reading the John Pickett series. This one, by far, is the worst of them. Fully half the book is reflection about the situation and the rest of the story drags on and on. Certain twists to the story, the escape early, more going on with the client’s motive, the family or many other things. Instead the whole of the mystery is known within the first 3 chapters and everything afterward is just wrote by rote.
