I really cared about Angel and Simeon. A great couple, if unlikely. I want to know more about Simeon. Why would a vampire be attracted to a necromancer? The author hints at a deep seated hatred between the two groups, so their attraction never made sense from that point of view. The author does a great job of writing romantic and believable interactions between the pair.
I’m not sure of Mr. Leslie’s Bostonian accent. It kept slipping into more of a Long Island yenta. That kept pulling me out of the story.
