I really enjoyed the previous two novels, however this book focusing on Lizzie was not my favorite. I understand her personality and maturity (or lack thereof) were a product of her upbringing and potentially affected by the supplements forced on her, but I really struggled to get through the middle of the book where she pulls a bit of a ‘woe is me,’ ‘I’m all alone’ routine, which was kind of off-putting. Ultimately, I’m glad I finished it to tie-off some questions from earlier books, but this was not my favorite installment as I tend to prefer stronger or more resilient female main characters.
