*I’m not going to give you the ‘what this book is about’ blurb – you can read that elsewhere.

1. It’s Bentley Little – he has a style, you either love him or hate him. I, for one, love him, but I’ll admit this isn’t my favorite of his books. Still enjoyable, in spite of a few minor plot holes. I mean, plot holes are kind of his thing though, so if you can’t handle those, this author may not be for you.

2. I listened to the audiobook version and I’ll say the narrator isn’t my favorite. Bit dry, but not the worst I’ve ever listened to.

3. Layers of story which I always enjoy. I think this is what gets Little into ‘trouble’ with plot holes. Occasionally he may have too much going on in the story and miss something/forget somethingm whatever. I enjoy a multi-layered story, especially when it involves a culture that I’m not familiar with. Speaking of, I’ve seen a lot of feedback on this book saying it’s not accurate. Well, it’s also FICTION. If I want to know actual facts about the Molokan religion I’m surely not going to get them from a Bentley Little horror book. No, like any good INTP/Type 5 I’m going to go to Google and search for reputable sites to learn more, duh.
