So first let me say that I love Mary Burton’s books. I think she’s an exceptional author. I also love this new trend of having multiple narrators. I think that as a general rule, it gives more depth to the listening experience. If you haven’t listened to the book “Armored” as an audible exclusive with multiple narrators, please do. it was PHENOMINAL.
Unfortunately this book is not a good example of the brilliance of this trend. None of the narrators in this book are pleasant to listen to. This is especially true of the woman who does the voice of the victims. Truth be told, l lost track of who was supposed to be who. The woman who did the voice of Jordan was OK but her Boston accent was not good.
That said, the story was good and kept my interested. I will say, as others have said, that this book is not Mary Burton’s best but it’s certainly worth a listen.
