i read a lot of books, and I don’t generally rate overall book below 4 stars. i also try to not drop out of any book i pick up, especially if it’s legible and forms complete sentences and thoughts, but this is torture.
almost halfway through the book and I’m so bored and disappointed.

pros:
narration
had potential
an attempt at creating character in some of the characters (you will see what I mean in the cons)
sometimes the author introduces things through dialogue rather than through spoon feeding backstory.

cons:
no real plot
no real conflict
no stakes
listening to this felt like somewhere between washing dishes, and playing a video game where all you do is grinding, not because you actually want to, or have an interest in leveling up, nor because you get anything once you complete it, but because you have nothing else to do. boring.
there was almost no individuality amongst the characters.
particularly the ladies (best friend, nurse, and princess) could all be one character for all the interesting character traits or lack thereof they all have in common.
Brick, and the AI programs were the only 3 ones that felt like individuals
being spoon-fed most plot points, and none plot points, if we’re going to pretend that there is any plot to begin with.
best example was the flashback for why the main character decided to do something.
