The main character is too submissive for me to enjoy. He’s constantly apologizing to his fairy that berates him for not knowing something she should have told him to begin with. The whole situation reminds me of an abusive relationship that the man is too embarrassed to get out of.

The fairy is just an exposition tool that is used to remind the reader how dumb the MC is while the MC practically can’t do anything without the fairies guidance. It’s like he cannot think for himself at all and if or when he does, the fairy almost immediately explains how dumb his choice was.

The MC doesn’t have to have godlike knowledge but the ability to think and stand up for himself are things I’d like to see in a MC. A MC that does nothing but apologize isn’t appealing to me at all and really made me not want to finish this book.

As a disclaimer, I’m not a huge fan of multiple narrators to begin with. Now with that in mind, I have to say this has made me more open to the idea of multiple narrators. I cannot say any of the narrators were good because I couldn’t finish the book but from what I did listen to, I didnt like it. The fairy and MC weren’t great but I dont know if that was due to the book or them. I rate performance 1 star because of the sound effects and music.
