What did you like best about A Long December? What did you like least?
Some of what was best about these stories didn’t work in the Audible format for me. Some stories ended abruptly, before I expected, and that was part of their potential appeal. However, the next story started immediately and by the time I realized it was a new story I had lost the opportunity to consider and enjoy the ending of the previous one. In a traditional book I’d know the story ended. I could pause and reflect.
Would you be willing to try another book from Richard Chizmar? Why or why not?
Yes, for sure.
Have you listened to any of David Stifel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
So much of the ratings for narrators is subjective. This one was not for me. His delivery is very slow and well, sounds a little ‘simple’ to me. Again it’s taste I suppose so I gave him 4 stars.
Was A Long December worth the listening time?
Whether it was worth the time was borderline. I wish I would have stopped and read it on paper.
