I’m sorry but this book just didn’t do it for me. I’m not sure if I was just in the wrong mood or if it was actually the book, but I found myself cringing (A LOT) and then just hoping that the end would come quickly.

I listened to this on audio and usually don’t really have issues with narrators. This narration was done by Ada Sinclair and for some reason, her voice was very grating for me. (Especially during the labor and delivery section) Like I mentioned earlier, maybe it was me – who knows, it might have just been the wrong day or the wrong time.

What specifically drove me crazy? Well, the plot itself started digging itself into holes pretty quickly and never really could get out. Without going into spoilers- this is from the VERY beginning – a pregnant bartender goes into labor at work (which is, of course, a bar) and there just happen to be three strange men who had stayed in the bar after closing who end up helping her give birth. Then to top things off, she hears them arguing over who is going to take and keep her child (HER BRAND NEW BABY DAUGHTER!) and she realizes that they were each there separately to attempt to kidnap her daughter. So, what does she end up doing? Well, asking them to stay with her of course.

Makes perfect sense, right? Oh, and that is after she discovers they are supernatural creatures (which she had no idea existed). Yep, I’m going to invite a strange werewolf, a strange vampire and a strange Fae to stay with us after hearing all of that……..

And that is before things got weird….It was honestly just to OTT for me.
