I wanted so badly to like this book but I actually had a hard time finishing it. The story and characters were very good but as I reader I just kept thinking “good Lord! Are we expected to believe this?” Sorry but first off do you believe those teenagers and a pretty teacher would just be let go by murderers and rapists during a riot where they were already killing prison guards? And finally do you believe someone like Diego who was also a murderer and an abuser of his daughter would suddenly turn into a little lamb? Give me a break next time I pray Grace Hamilton will not treat her readers like they are stupid.
