The story has interesting concepts. While it certainly doesn’t come up with anything new, it accomplishes what it set out to do. The whole skeletal shenanigans were alright, but there wasn’t much creativity in this book. Our MC diddle daddles around with “skeleton fight club”, where he makes his mobs fight each other to evolve. He never does anything on his own accord except making a new floor once in a while and adding a few new enemies and traps throughout the dungeon. He’s very reactive. Adventurers get more powerful? Make a new floor. He just doesn’t do anything. Reactionary dungeon…

Something else that bothered me was that the first floor had 2 rooms. It looks like the author got a few ideas for a book and threw them together and hoped for the best

Now my main problem with the book is the awkward, poor and unrealistic dialogue between the different characters. This occurs mostly with the fairy. The fairy’s voice and attitude was super annoying and the dungeon showing his belly every time she got upset didn’t help either. The main characters fairy Erin is borderline useless. The dungeon our MC, itself admits that the fairy “forgets” very important information. They also happen to be in love, which is never explained or given a cause. Dungeon core and a fairy = Love? She basically sleeps for half the book and gives information she should’ve given him at the start once in a while. The book is also very PG, which isn’t a problem in itself but can get on your nerves.

Morals and killer dungeons don’t mix very well.

The other MC in the story is Blake, the son of a platinum adventurer, And like everything else in this story, bland- Nothing very creative or unique about him. His adventuring group goes in and out of the dungeon. Nothing more. Also, Jack, another member of the adventuring party is very cliche and annoying. “OMG, rogue/thief character that is actually nice. What a surprise!”. sigh…

Overall, if the author polished the dialogue, was more creative with his characters, and gave them depth and intriguing aspects the quality of the content could massively improve. For now, it remains a poor novel. If you like the other dungeon core stories on this website, you’ll probably enjoy this one too.
