This book is not bad and has a very intriguing back story, but the main character is not lovable.
This supposedly badass ruler flails during most of his battles, emotionally unstable and even with all the assurances to the contrary he seems you be on the path to become a tirant.
His companions are total assess a lot of time too. I suppose this should be funny or intended to provide some sort of interesting dynamic, but it did not work for me.
I’m not sure I’ll keep up with the series if/when it continues in audio format (I don’t care for the narration either, this cast is by far not the best Soundboot has to offer).
