The repetitive nature, annoying main character and the constant yelling, same jokes and constant, endless fighting that doesnt grip me at all has made this one of the books i’ve taken so many tries to grip onto. I try to be very kind but at this point, it’s the book. Not me.
The best thing i can say is the premise is interesting and there does also seem to be a interesting story here, if you can get through the same jokes, yelling and repetitive fighting. I could not. Perhaps the book should be more marketed as a young adult novel, as it did seem that way to me.
