Author has the framework of a good Sci-Fi universe, but is limited by the author’s limited ability to tell a story. These books are a collection of military situations that would be a good outline to use for writing a book, but almost completely lacks a “story”. And a bit of character development would be welcome. The caricatures painted here are a standard issue set of characters that are far too recognizable in this genre.
I made it through 3 “books” and feel like I’ve covered what should be part 1 in a single book with 3 parts. I can’t keep pouring money into this unsatisfying diversion, and I wish I could get back the time invested. It’s clear this author is following “the formula” to make money writing a sci-if series. These would be more appropriate as short story installments in a pulp fiction magazine from 75 years ago when Sci-go itself was young and still developing (Yes, I’m an OLD man).
This is sad because the basic universe he created has potential. It’s just waiting for a story and some character development to pull together all the military action.
